How to Find a Private Yoga Class in Ibiza You'll Love

Most tourists or Ibiza part-timers choose a private teacher over a group class or studio visit. You enjoy the luxury of experiencing yoga in the comfort of your beautiful Ibiza home and get the best possible attention tailored to your needs and adjusted to your schedule. Truthfully, there are many different yoga teachers in Ibiza, and it can be challenging to figure out which one suits you best, especially if you're new on the island or just here for a vacation. So, between all the different teachers, how do you know which is best for you?

Watch Out for These Green Flags!

While there are many great teachers which I support, here are what I believe are some green flags when you are looking for a private yoga class in Ibiza:

✔ Professional online presentation (We'll explore this further in a bit.)

✔ Reviews (Reviews can help you choose.)

✔ Transparent pricing (No hidden fees!)

✔ Reliable communication (Because your time matters.)

✔ Free pre-consultation (Get to know your teacher before you commit.)

✔ Punctuality (Respected by both you and the teacher.)

✔ Respect your privacy (Your practice is a safe space.)

✔ Provides material (So you can focus on your yoga journey.)

✔ Post-consultation (Your feedback matters!)

At first glance, all these points are evident, but few service providers follow them all. I support different private yoga teachers, but I am aware that, unfortunately, many of them show up as quite unprofessional. So, let's dive a bit deeper into choosing a suitable private yoga class in Ibiza should look like:

The Very First Impression: A Professional Online Presence

I am very aware of how much work a great online presentation takes. Good website design, updated information, well-performing SEO and an IG strategy make it a perfect nightmare for a not-so-tech-savvy person. However, it isn't impossible. An excellent online presentation is your first impression of a yoga teacher. If it doesn't match, information isn't updated, links don't work, etc., I recommend you move on to the next one. Even though it doesn't necessarily mean that they are not performing well on the mat, professionalism and quality are part of the holistic approach of a business.

How Trustworthy Does the Teacher Seem? Reviews Are Key!

I swear on reviews. If it's a restaurant, hairdresser, vet, nail salon, mechanic, name it! I only get into something over four stars. The higher, the better. Check what other people have to say about your potential private yoga class with this teacher and if it resonates with your expectations and values.

Talking About Expectations: Watch Out for Transparent Pricing

Now, I need to express myself very carefully there. Every teacher or other qualified service provider can decide on their prices. I find a lot of pricing either very sketchy or, at different times, you don't even find prices. Why? Because often, teachers decide spontaneously how much they want to charge for your private yoga class today and maybe how much they think you can pay. Ensure you get your prices straight before and that they are equally visible to everyone.

I also want to mention something significant about pricing on this island. You will often see private yoga classes in Ibiza for way over 100€ an hour. This is usually because many teachers rely on concierge companies to promote their services, and these companies charge commissions on top of the teachers' prices. So, if you're here on vacation, even though you don't want to move a finger, support independent teachers and reach out to them directly instead of going through a concierge company.

Arranging Your Private Yoga Class: Reliable Communication Matters

Now, if you decide to explore a private yoga class in Ibiza with a particular teacher, you should get in touch. Reliable communication means you can expect an answer to your first contact within the next 12 hours (at the latest!). If you cannot rely on somebody to answer your question on time, chances are low that they will show up punctually at the agreed-upon time. A big red flag is the typical Ibiza excuses a la "There was so much traffic" or "I didn't find the house".

Listen, sometimes shit goes down during your morning, but as an experienced yoga teacher living in Ibiza for a while, you know the drill. You know that in summer, you must calculate a minimum of 15 minutes plus your driving time for specific hours. You also understand that many houses in rural areas don't support the phone network. Professional teachers are well prepared to arrive at the location on time and can start on time. At the same time, I ask you to show up ready when they arrive so you can start immediately. In general, please be respectful of each other's time. Your teacher may have another client right after, or if you are a teacher, your client has something to take care of.

Free Pre-Consultation: Getting to Know Your Teacher

As an experienced teacher, I usually offer people a free consultation call so they can ask any questions. I like to have a 5-minute chat with everyone before we start a private class so that I can get a first impression of their expectations and talk about some basics. People usually don't take advantage of it, but I recommend you have that five or just 2-minute chat. Get a feeling for the teacher, especially their client's confidentiality. That means the teacher respects your privacy and holds a safe space for you. What happens or is talked about during a private yoga class should always stay on the mat or at the client's home.

What You Need for Your Private Yoga Class: Provided Material

Okay, so sometimes I need help with this. I am a yoga teacher whose main focus in Ibiza is private yoga classes at people's homes. But here and then, I get bigger private groups, asking to bring material for 13 people. I only have a few mats and always need to get them somewhere. BUT you're on vacation; you will not have the materials, so it should be up to the teacher. Some have to charge extra for the rental of the mats, so please also respect that when this is asked for.

Plus, if the materials, such as the mats or the blocks, don't seem clean to you, mention that! You shouldn't practice on somebody else's sweat, and it is the teacher's responsibility to make sure materials are cleaned between clients. At the same time, please treat the teacher's materials as if they were your own.

How Satisfied Were You with Your Private Yoga Class? Post-Consultation

I personally like to reach out to my students after a private yoga class. First, I want to know if they benefited from it; second, if they wish to integrate something for next time; and third, to hold a safe space to ask any questions. At the same time, make sure you leave a review for your private teacher and support their business in Ibiza.
